Hello! Happy Christmas folks! Hope you had a good one. Made (was given!) £300 from the Grandparents as a match for what I raised between selection and x-mas :D
I did a concert on Thursday (15th) where I just sang one song (to be uploaded as soon as I can!) then sold mincemeat in the interval for Sallow Tree Concerts which raised £122 so I was happy! If anyone lives in or near Sale (Manchester) do try and go to one of their concerts cause they are just amazing...especially Swing Persuasion who accompanied me!
Not had a count up of money for quite a while because of no pay-in slips but once x-mas is out of the way I'll sort that out and update my thermometer! I also have a challange of finding 100 charities to ask for money from by new years day...eek!

GARAGE SALE!
Hello!
So my first big event that I've organised is ready to go so I thought I'd post it up here so any locals can bob in and say hi! I will be holding a garage sale on Saturday 10th December on Princes Road, Heaton Moor, Stockport between 12pm-3pm. There are lots of awesome things that might even be good for xmas presents! There will be clothes, childrens toys (a great big thank you to 2 girls I childmind who have dug out 3 boxes of their old toys for me to sell!), I think an old xbox might have been donated, as well as some really odd things my mum has found in the cellar (An old cast iron fire poker set and countless egg-cups-this is what happens when you keep chickens!). So if you're in the area pop in, say hello and please buy something because anything left over is probably going on 'Freecycle' (or ebay if it look expensive!)
I was in Nottingham yesterday, so I'm not sure if there was a cake sale at Halle Youth Choir (my WONDERFUL friend Abi Newton said she might make some cake to cover for me) but even so I've made £88.20 so far!
I will also be singing at a concert in Sale on the 15th and doing a little question/answer session if you want to know more and I have made lots of mincemeat so will be selling that in the interval!

Deadlines.
So our November deadline has passed. We are set deadlines depending on when we were selected, so for an August selection we have a deadline in November for £1500, the next one is in March for £3000 and the final ever deadline is 31st July for the whole £5100. I have yet to update my thermometers, but I am pleased to inform that I hit the November deadline!
In other happy news, my good friend Sarah came to stay last week :D We met on selection (she's going to Malawi) so it was good to actually talk to a real person who was attempting the same as I am. Needless to say she is ever so organised and has sent all her letters to charities and has several events organised. I have no events organised and have sent no letters to charities (yet!) but through much nagging from Sarah I have now nearly got the first batch sent off...as soon as I get the stamps!
Cake sales at choir are also going well, with £40 raised over 3 sales :) My friend Abi is making cakes for me so we have twice the number and variety though of course this has meant a little competition has developed! We have a theory that chocolate sells much better than anything else, so next week we shall both make a form of chocolte cake and see who sells the most. She will make chocolate brownies and I, rocky roads. I am quietly confident!

Update :)
Pictures to come, but so far I've made 27 jars of Damson jam (of which I've sold 20!), 34 jars of Blackcurrant jam, around 30 jars of Tomato and Chilli jam (more of a relish to go with cheese and crackers than on your toast!) and a batch of mincemeat yet to be put in jars! I've also got halloween party invitations to be sent out to several families for the children I babysit.
Cake sale at Halle Youth Choir on Sunday made £16.27, and I will be holding that every Sunday until at least Christmas, maybe after!
A special thanks to Mark and Tom in London who donated £1000 on Saturday! I was amazed!

Selection Course on Coll
To even think about going to South Africa with Project Trust, I needed to spend 4 days on the Isle of Coll off the west coast of Scotland! To get there I had to take 3 trains, spend the night in Oban then catch an early morning ferry for the final stretch to Coll. Once there, we were put into groups and did activities to see how well we worked with others and throughout the week we attended several workshops to help us with fundraising. While on the island, we stayed (in small groups) with one of the 220 residents of Coll. I stayed with a very nice woman called Paula, and her daughter Beth (Also, the kitten Storm, the dog Neville, the hamster Hamish and finally, 4 sheep called Floppy, Hoppy, Skippy and Mr. T!!)
