I completed my drum facilitation course today and it was fantastic! I PROMISE to do a post about it, but I want to put pictures with, and I know that if I write the post now, and aim to put pictures up on Thursday, I'll forget to add the pictures, so my aim is to get a post up either Thursday evening, or next weekend (depending on how much I'm working and where I'm working) full of what I got to do WITH pictures!
In other, very brief, news: I might get to be working for one of the social workers. Usually you'd have to be a 3rd year social work student to be allowed to work with them but this social worker has requested me specifically because I've spent almost 2 years working exclusively in her houses so have a really good relationship with all the children and the childcare workers. It will probably involve me training the volunteers working in the two houses and mainly helping with paperwork, but I may even be allowed to asses the kids when the get home from holidays and out weekends. It's not a huge responsibility I don't think (cause I'm not trained in any way other than experience) but whenever the kids come back to the home, I think someone has to talk to them and make sure they're OK and that nothing out of the ordinary or anything bad happened to them. If they think something needs to be looked into, they do a bigger, more intense therapy session with them, so if I were to miss anything, they still go to their therapists and social worker, I'd just be there as the first contact.
